About this experience
Enchanted Rock is a batholith — a granite dome pushed up a billion years ago and worn bare. The summit walk is short, steep and entirely on rock, and the view at the top is the Hill Country in every direction with nothing in the way.
The park caps entry and fills by mid-morning most weekends; we hold a slot. On the way back we stop in Fredericksburg for something cold, and get you home before the light goes.
The rock stores heat: in July we leave at seven and are up before the surface is unbearable.

Worth every cent
